Please not animation, that would haunt my nightmares, And take away the seriousness and grandeur of the epic.

^You know animation can be serious. You wouldn't know from it from 90 percent of Western animation but it can be serious. Making it animated would not instantly turn it into a kids show.

@Mitth'raw'nuruodo3 I agree! Animation has produced content I absolutely adore. But I'm not sure animation is the best fit for the Tolkien universe.

^Epic fantasy has rarely been done in animation. I think they should do it, it would be really unique.

I voted for animation, because it would be easier to do better and for a lower budget. I would love a live-action version, but I'm worried it would butcher the Ainulindalë and then go down hill from there. Also, the chances of a live-action version of The Silmarillion, assuming it means the whole thing, seem very, very small.

^Yeah, there’s very chance they could pull off the Silmarillon in Live action. Also the thing about animation is, if you can draw it you can do it. Just about anything is possible with animation. All they need is a art style that suits Middle Earth.

I’m fine with using animation for the War of Rohirrim, because the scale of the story is much smaller than the Silmarillion. Even a large story like GoT is produced with live action, why not the Silmarillion too?
