Seeing the Amazon show portray Elrond and Galadriel as rash, rebellious, and not as bright or mature as we know them as, can be quite jarring. But one must remember that this was THOUSANDS of years before the events of The Hobbit or the Trilogy. And people change and grow through time. And it seems that despite their immortality, Elves are no different.
The show seems to be suggesting (to me at least), that Elves grow much slower then humans. What can take a few decades for us humans to become adults on a mature and physical level... can take thousands of years for elves. Make you wonder if the show is taking Tolkein's themes of mortality as a gift to the next level?
