Fun to watch, but at least 1 movie too much. I watched the first movie in both regular and high frame rate and it is definitely better in high frame rate if you can find it.
They deviate from the books more than the prior trilogy does, they (for justified reasons involving the time restraint) are less visually convincing due to the precedence of sugar-coated CGI over miniatures/sculpted models/costumes, they have bountiful film clichés and ex machinae* relative to the prior trilogy, plenty more moments of thoughtless script, and action here and there that reflects a video game's physics instead of reality.
The acting and Smaug are very commendable!
*There are four separate moments in which a small object of high importance falls, and is almost lost, but by luck is caught or found. (The Ring, the Arkenstone, the Key, and the talisman)
I liked it even though it was not very accurate to the book.
Yeah I liked them, I had seen the Lotr trilogy before but watching the first Hobbit movie is what really got me into the franchise. Each of the films were pretty good, though they weren’t true to the books they still were very enjoyable. I liked the Dwarves, and how each of them had a unique personality, and it was cool to see more of their culture. I liked most of the changes, though I think if they were going to make Kili x Tauriel a thing they should have had Kili live.
I don`t like it. Peter Jackson`s is not better than the book, it`s worse. But it`s not all bad things with it! This film is assimilar to the book! Why is it bad? Because these films are called and supposed to be based on the book!
LOTR trilogy is better!
This is only Peter Jackson's adaptation of the the hobbit trilogy to him is his own, the problem I have along with others I suspect is it varies from our version we formed on our own imagination. I think out of the many deviations that he took and ert out, to me that smeagol was a stoor hobbit, as that fact may explain the grip the ring had upon them. There a 3 branches of hobbits I only mention two as I am unable to recall the others name.
This makes the story interesting for me, albeit the story I have in my head has been tainted as he values money more than details.
I have never read the book mind you but I find the movie trilogy to be very enjoyable adventure films with great acting, action, and set pieces
The movie triology is enjoyable to me, altough i think they have added way to much of unaccuracy compared to the books. For me, the lotr triology is more enjoyable but the visual effects are of Course way better in the hobbit films.
Great movies, but too goofy and the final movie generally stinks. I for one don't mind the CGI effects. Martin Freeman did a stellar job as Bilbo.
What do you think?
