To me legolas is over rated. I like him well enough but he's like the go to as a popular character when my boi gimli has been out here hacking orc and taking names while shorter than most anyone else lol
I think Frodo is underrated. Everyone says people like Sam and Aragorn were the "true heroes" while poor Frodo sits there with all the memes calling him a wimp. Guys, Frodo is the hero. HE volunteered to bring the ring to Mordor. HE saved the world. Even if he did trust Gollum, he made the right decision in the end. Even if he did cast Sam out of his company, he couldn't control himself. And he lasted about a years' worth of time without poisoning from the Ring, while the rest of the characters would have lasted a month max! I'm not saying that the others aren't amazing (personally, my favorite is Aragorn), I just think Frodo Baggins deserves a lot more credit than he has.
@Primus Goraith I agree. Legolas is loved because he's handsome. But he really be pullin off that hair tho :)
Honestly Legolas is a great character but he is very overrated. Bilbo, Frodo, and many other characters are very underrated. Bilbo, aragorn and gandalf are my personal favorites but all of them are great in their own way!
It always frustrates me when I ask people “Have you read Lord of the Rings” and then they say “Is that the one with Legolas?”
I love every single one of Tolkien’s characters but I think Legolas is overrated, especially the movie version.
I definitely agree with you all about Legolas, he is great but there are so many other characters who are so well developed. Personally, I think Glorfindel is underrated, mostly because Peter Jackson decided to not put him in the movie *sigh*, but he is amazing in LOTR and the Silmarillion. I also think that Boromir is kind of underrated since Aragorn kind of stood in the spot light, but I love how he redeemed himself by standing up for the halflings when the orcs attacked. :D
What do you think?
