My father read me The Hobbit when I was about 9, but i couldn't understand it, and forgot about it for a few years, until a friend told me to read it, so I watched the films and loved them so much I proceded to read the books and the Silmarillion

Books and then the Fellowship of the Ring

Watched the movies when I was too young but then when I was older the Hobbit movies kind of reignited my love of Middle Earth. So I read all the books.
